Please sign in to see more. Welcome to the Woodcock family tree! Whilst researching my family at first I found very little information regarding my mother's Woodcock line. Since then I have discovered many relatives on various lines of my family in the Hartshead/ Birstall/ Liversedge/ Cleckheaton area. My roots are firmly established there. The earliest records I have found so far for the Woodcocks are in Birstall Parish in the late 1600s. The family were then resident at "Liversedge Parke", the head of the household being William WOODCOCK Born Circa 1665. He is my direct ancestor through 3 separate lines of my family! Many of the early Woodcocks I have found were "Clothiers" or Trade Weavers. I have made trips to St Peter's, Hartshead and Whitechapel church at Cleckheaton and will be posting photographs of the area and Churchyards on this site in the near future. I would like to thank the many people who have helped in the making of this site, especially Harold Woodcock and his daughter Lyndsey, Tina Charlesworth, David Horn, Barry Woodcock, Kathryn Jones, Pat Sutcliffe, Sue Standish, Allan Kelly, Helen Parkin and anyone else who has helped, who I have forgotten to mention.
